Notice is hereby given that due to the non attendance of Robert Hoyle, a vacancy has arisen in the Office of Councillor for Melksham Without Parish Council.

If by 7 December 2023 a request for an election to fill said vacancy is made in writing to the Returning Officer (see notice below) by TEN electors from the Parish Ward of Melksham Without (Melksham Without (Bowerhill Ward)), an election will be held to fill the said vacancy, otherwise the vacancy will be filled by co-option. The parish council have a copy of a template form which we can forward/print out; the format is not prescribed by law specifically, but this is a template that is provided to ensure that all the relevant information is recorded in a single place.

Any requests for election must be returned to the Returning Officer at Wiltshire Council by the deadline. All requests must be sent to Terence Herbert, Returning Officer, Wiltshire Council (details on notice) and NOT to the parish council/Clerk.
